Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA)

The Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), founded on January 16th, 1950, is a Higher Education Institution focused in the aeronautics sector. The main mission of the Institute is to promote, through education, research and extension activities, the progress of science and technologies related to aerospace field, as well as the formation of high-educated professionals in the sector of Aerospace.

Since 2017, ITA and Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology (IPK) (Berlin, Germany) established a partnership aimed at the joint acquisition and implementation of Industrial and publicly funded research and development projects, pooling resources and expertise of both ITA and IPK Fraunhofer.

Competence Center in Manufacturing (CCM)

The Competence Center in Manufacturing (CCM), founded in 1991, is a multidisciplinary laboratory from the manufacturing department of ITA. Since the beginning, CCM has developed applied research and integrated solutions in Academic-Industrial research cooperation. The researches conducted are majorly multidisciplinary studies and aggregate the areas of Manufacturing Processes, Automation, Metrology, Digital Manufacturing and Structural Analysis.

As an integrated part of the CCM-ITA, the Gear Innovation Group (GIE) was launched in 2011, motivated by the concerns of the Brazilian Industry in technological evolution and prominence in the world market. It consists of a group dedicated to research in gear technology and power transmission systems and, by this conception, figures as unique in South America. The main lines of research are manufacturing, design, and running behavior.

EMBRAPII Power Transmission Unit

CCM-ITA is an EMBRAPII Unit accredited to develop projects in the field of Power Transmission Systems. Working today in a multidisciplinary way in the areas of Design, Manufacturing and Monitoring and Control of Transmission Systems.

Developing solutions that integrate processes throughout the product lifecycle, the EMBRAPII CCM-ITA Unit can boost the competitiveness of companies through innovation and improvements found through applied research focused on the real needs of companies.
